Molton Brown Travel Spa treatments are free, but there’s a catch: Clients must hold British Airways first-class or business tickets, or Gold Card membership. Set in the airline’s swank departures lounge, the spa offers perks both tactile and edible to high-fliers with time to spare between continents. The spacious lounge—with couches, computers, and TVs, and various open bars, cappuccino-makers, and snack stands—resonates creature comfort, and a “preflight meal” dining room serves appetizers, salads, and entrées like shrimp in Thai coconut broth. The spa proper comprises a retail display, a few airy treatment rooms, a darkened nook for naps, and private cabins for steam baths and hydrojet showers, said to be favored by Prince Andrew. Appointments are first come, first serve for the quarter-hour de-stressers: a hydrating facial; a back and shoulder rubdown; a hand or foot exfoliation, and massage. Passengers who can’t be accommodated are turned away in first-class fashion, with a Molton Brown goody bag.
