Owner Clive Rousseau got his start as a man about uptown at a now-defunct nail salon at Bergdorf Goodman. There, Rousseau gained a notable clientele comprised of ladies who lunch (and shop) and New York glitterati. His current solo operation caters to private clients, mainly at their homes, but also at one of his two outposts in Brooklyn Heights or midtown—one in a studio apartment, the latter in a nondescript office building. His pedicures are not your standard cut, file, and polish job like you’ll find at most salons, but rather a complete cleaning of the feet and nails. Using a hefty amount of antiseptic and manual grunt work (sloughing, filing, etc.), the 90-minute service results in feet free of any fungus, cracked skin, or other impurities that might be ailing you.
