Profile

With three prime city locations—two in midtown and one at JFK—Oasis is New York’s homegrown day-spa mini-empire. Born in the mid-nineties from a family-owned chair-massage business, the day spas are now known for their effective, on-target skin and body treatments. Though offerings vary a bit from spa to spa, the menu at Park Avenue—the largest location—features practically every service you’ve ever heard of, including over a dozen varieties of massage, special packages including an Instructional Couples Massage, and a long list of facials utilizing the Dermalogica line. A variety of body scrubs and wraps, a full-service hair and nail salon, waxing (including Brazilian bikini), and sunless face and body bronzing are also available here. Dark, quiet, and featuring a large relaxation area, this location is popular with those looking for a one-stop shop or couples’ services while the location inside the Affina Dumont Hotel has a fitness center that offers personal-training sessions.

Bridal Package

Models swear by these mellow, minimalist spots for their Brazilian bikini waxes. The Bride-to-Be package includes a salt scrub, aromatherapy massage, facial, manicure, and pedicure ($320); the deluxe package ($450) adds a makeup application.

Oasis Spa at One Park Ave has construction being done on the building which results in loud banging making the service unpleasant at best. Spa management does not feel it is necessary to inform spa goers in advance and offered me a whole $20 off a future service. Needless to say I will not be returning.

I went for a facial thinking it would be divine but I have to say I was very dissapointed. The service was below average from the beginning with very rude staff members and an the facialist who was snappy. It was also the roughest extraction I've ever had! I left feeling like my nose would fall off and bruised the next day. I've gotten much better facials done uptown for 1/2 the price.
