Generally, if you've seen one wholesaler in Broadway's perfume district, you've seen them all but Perfume Americana Wholesale stands out thanks to its relatively large space and assortment of travel-sized eaux de toilette. Whereas most of the area's stores consign their perfume business to one wall of a cramped, narrow, hallway-like space (opposite watches, jewelry, or jeans), this one hawks only fragrances, which line five walls of a space where customers actually can browse without bumping into each other. The products and prices are what will be found at all the other outlets along the strip—everything from the tried-and-true to the latest actress/model/socialite-branded fragrances at nearly half the normal retail price—but an entire display case full of designer miniatures, priced at around five to eight dollars a pop, make it much cheaper for customers to experiment with different scents before investing in a large bottle. Because even at deep discounts, no one wants a lifetime supply of a perfume they realize two days too late just doesn't suit them. — Kathryn Williams
