Profile
Famed celebrity stylist Ric Pipino opened his second eponymous salon in Midtown on the lower level of the Galleria in the summer of 2011. Teaming up with color brand Wella and working with the design firm that did his Nolita locale, Pipino created an equally sexy atmosphere with an aqua velour couch and zebra-print throw pillows in the waiting area, and gold chain mail lining the walls. The service menu is more extensive here, however, with spray tanning from Long Island-based company Suvara, mini-facials with luxury organic line Tata Harper, brows by Damone Roberts, and makeup by Alexa Rudolfo. But despite the full-service environment and the 3,600-feet of space, the quality of cuts from Pipino, who uses both Wella and products from his own line, and has a knack for creating long-layered looks that frame the face, have thankfully not changed. For those unable to book the busy stylist, or looking for a service at a lower price point, Pipino has brought eight other stylists, as well as six colorists, on board.
