Profile
As a celebrity makeup artist on Canadian movie sets, Franchie Pir was constantly fielding requests to source the hard-to-find products he carried in his kit. He answered the beauty call in 2002, opening his first PIR Cosmetics store in Toronto’s Yorkville neighborhood and stocking a select group of niche, upmarket brands imported from Europe. His first U.S. store—opened in 2004 opposite the ever-popular Café Habana—is a lofted, colorful space complete with raw cement floors, antique-style displays, and funky cowhide rugs. In addition to the featured makeup lines presented up front (trying before buying is encouraged), PIR carries a rotating group of skincare options from the likes of Ole Henriksen, Saturnia, and Sundari. Despite the broad selection, you won’t find much overlap with beauty emporiums like Sephora; PIR’s mantra is as soon as a brand saturates the market, it’s phased off shelves in favor of something newer, fresher, and cultier. Founder and brow-guru Pir (the press has called him “the Picasso of brows”) visits the store two Saturdays per month for complimentary makeup applications and brow touch-ups. — Carolyn Murnick

The word on the street is that Franchie Pir and Randle are known in the beauty industry as thieves. They convinced many boutique beauty brands to work with them on consignment when they were on Prince street because they are "International" and "in-the-know". When they they suddenly closed their shop a couple of years ago, they did not pay for their products and as a Style Blogger/Reporter, I've heard MANY companies are in the process of taking them to court because they have redesigned their site, are back in New York city, and they are selling products that have never been paid for on their site and on amazon. http://ny.racked.com/archives/2008/02/06/discontinued_pir_cosemtics.php has more on this...
Smells like bad karma to me! I would steer clear.
Franchie PIR literally stole thousands of dollars of product from many of the small boutique brands that he represented. He is NOT a person of any integrity whatsoever and it was SHOCKING the extent at which he was willing to go to STEAL PRODUCT and HIDE at his TORONTO location.
PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT FRANCHIE PIR. There are many good honest boutiques to support in NYC!
FRANCHIE PIR should be in JAIL. TRASH!
Karma Franchie. Karma.
