Real estate broker Rick Kelly and seasoned uptown stylist Peter Diaz opened this mod eleven-chair Chelsea salon in November 2008. The spot offers three price brackets, based on the stylist’s years of experience—silver, gold, or platinum—from a $39 cut and style (four-plus years' experience) to $69 and up (more than ten years). A glowing LED bench, futuristic light fixtures, and a chrome-mesh curtain in the reception area lend a vibe that’s not far off from nearby Chelsea nightclubs—in fact, haircut specialist and platinum stylist ‘Ele Augustin occasionally D.J.'s evenings at the salon. Augustin specializes in technical cuts—think razor-sharp bobs and blunt bangs—and works with a staff of twelve stylists touting résumés from Frederic Fekkai, Cutler, Aveda, Dramatics, and Bumble & Bumble.
