Following the success of her first two Stuy Town nail salons, Shanghai-born owner Jane Liu expanded her business with a full-service spa in 2006. The cozy 2,500-square-foot subterranean space is a favorite with Peter Cooper’s PTA set, who’ve been known to slip into one of the four massaging nail chairs for a quick mani-pedi before whisking off to a meeting. Those staying for longer treatments can make use of one of four massage rooms where Chinese-medicine-trained therapists dispense acupressure, Swedish techniques, herbal prescriptions, and deep-cleansing facials. There’s also a lounge where you can snack on seaweed-wrapped rice crackers or sip on post-treatment teas like warming ginger (suggested after the Dead Sea–salt body scrub), hormone-balancing rose (recommended after a Vitamin C–infused anti-aging facial), or hibiscus (for a tired liver).
