With its the sparkly chandeliers and sleek décor, Salon 13 might be mistaken for a lounge at first glance. The violet walls of this intimate space, which opened in February 2010 and also functions as a gallery, are lined with charcoal pieces by a local artist. After years of bartending at clubs like Crobar and Greenhouse, owner Seamus Regan envisioned a place where customers could not only transform their hair, but hang around for drinks and conversation. The stylists at Salon 13 focus primarily on edgy cuts and color, but there are also specialty services like the Brazilian Keratin straightening process. Also, Regan is used to the nightclub scene, so if you need to schedule after-hours he will not only work you in, but also offer you some wine to get things started.
