Profile

Aveda Institute grad Andi Marie Jones opened this streamlined salon in October 2008 with a team of four stylists. The bamboo ceiling, fresh aroma of Aveda products, and two large recycled-glass windows in front give the space an earthy, calming vibe. Jones mans the desk and also serves as the in-house aesthetician and makeup artist, offering basic facials, waxing, and makeup application. Each stylist has his or her own forte, spanning cuts, coloring, weaves, and relaxing. The service is personal and hands-on: Stylists shampoo their own clients’ hair at one of the three sinks, and footstools are pulled up for extra comfort.

Off-site services

Jones offers off-site makeup consultation and application for brides to be.

Ive never written a review but my service at Sanctuary deserves description. After waiting an hour for my scheduled appointment I asked the hairdresser for a trim, half-inch at most. Four inches later my relatively long hair is now barely shoulder length. Because they were running behind on appointments they had their intern blow out my hair. I'm terrible at blow drying my own hair but I could have done 5x better then this fellow. Frizz city. Hair grows back... but to pay $70+ for a haircut and have such terrible service leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. I will not go back to Sanctuary.
