This eighteen-seat salon and spa boasts an extensive menu of services, from manicures and three methods of hair straightening to massages and waxing. Owners Bruce Conroy and Antonio L. Rosa worked together for five years at Riccardo Maggiore and Manhattan Color Studio before opening this loftlike space in September 2008, complete with a mod three-seat bar and huge windows overlooking Fifth Avenue. The pair employs a team of fourteen other stylists, which makes deft use of scissors, razors, clippers, and thinning shears—as well as ecofriendly products from Belegenza and Amika—to create dramatic, layered cuts. Four aestheticians conduct soothing facials using the organic line Ilike (which Senses carries exclusively in New York), and massage therapist Tim Cisario offers an abridged menu of bodywork ranging from Swedish and deep-tissue massages to seaweed-based body wraps. — Randi Eichenbaum
