Shen Beauty is the result of a shared vision by co-owners Jessica Richards (former stylist) and Julia Stringer (beauty writer) who both saw Cobble Hill’s gap in niche-beauty-product outlets and wanted to fill it. Amid a wall of funky mirrors and revamped antiques is a selection of international and exclusive goodies that the two handpicked, like Kate Logan's Miracle Spritz and Kahina Argan Oil. A Byzantine-purple back wall houses the kids’ corner with kitschy tchotchkes from cupcake-shaped hand cream to Piggy Paint peel-off nail polish. For the grown-ups, Shen is the only U.S. retailer to stock renowned skin-care guru Amanda Lacey’s line, which is one of their best sellers, as well as Bloom and Blossom—a mother and baby brand—that’s a hit with the stroller set.
