Strip Ministry of Waxing
Profile
The first thing you notice about Strip is how clean it is. Waxing rooms are cozy with a cubby for your coat and Pollock-esque wall art, but the equipment looks more like a doctor’s office than a studio. The “waxperts” have been through an extensive training program in Singapore to do a Brazilian (or the male version, a Boyzilian) in fifteen minutes or less. Every Waxpert wears latex gloves and never double-dips in the wax, and the custom-made hard wax shrink-wraps each hair for a more efficient—and less painful—treatment. And while sanitation is the primary concern, comfort is a close second: Waxperts are friendly and chatty, happy to answer skin-care questions or just distract you from the hair removal at hand. Strip has a solution for any unwanted hair below the neck, but if it’s your brows you’re worried about, their sister salon, Browhaus, is located in the same space right outside the waxing rooms.
