Make your way through Carol’s Daughter’s bright and airy eponymous flagship store on 125th Street in Harlem and you’ll find this gem of a nail salon. Owner Lisa Price debuted the rustic-meets-Zen space in the summer of 2009 (with an opening event that included Rihanna in attendance), offering the business’ local, loyal following calming, aromatherapy-heavy manis and pedis. Sink into one of the dozen or so custom-made green armchairs with swiveling arm rests that enable you to prop your paws into a basin of the soak of your choice, from the popular, year-round “rose petal experience” with milk and tapioca (added for its soothing properties), to the seasonal “haute chocolate” with cocoa and brown sugar. Pedicures are also done in basins looking akin to dresser drawers. Chatter is kept to a minimum, and your choice of champagne or hot beverage is served chair-side. Hands and feet are left moisturized and dewy-looking, and there’s a hefty selection of polishes from lines like Essie and Chanel to choose from.Appointments
Although walk-ins are accepted, appointments are highly recommended.
Mini-manicures for children ages 12 and under are also offered.
