As the result of a personal quest to obtain better health, former New York actress Janet League-Katzin opened Royal Sphatika Spa in 2004 as a quiet sanctuary off Columbus Circle. The treatment menu includes oxygen facials, organic peels, and organic waxing, in addition to their Signature Experience, which is specially designed to restore balance and detoxify the body while stimulating the five senses. Using low-lighting, aromatherapy, and soothing music, the two-hour treatment (or the three-hour option) begins with a session in a personal infrared sauna, which is then followed by dry skin brushing, lymphatic drainage, a hemp oil body massage, and an ultra-moisturizing facial in one of the spa’s five treatment rooms using an array of all-natural botanicals. — Sara Idacavage
