Profile

Don’t ask for an appointment with Wayne Thomas, since the moniker refers to the middle names of the salon owner and his business partner, not to a single stylist. Ask instead for Brian Meehan, the twenty-year industry vet behind this operation. Meehan takes his promise to quality seriously, with follow-up calls to all customers and an invitation back to one of the cobalt chairs for a touch-up if you’re dissatisfied. Colorists are well versed in balayage and foil; a take-home mask (loaded with amino acids) can be purchased, as can any and all L’Oréal Série Expert products. Also on sale is the industry’s top flatiron, by GHD. Black and pink models are available; the proceeds from the latter are donated to breast-cancer research.

Extra

If you love the artwork that dons the salon’s walls, then you’re in luck. Each piece by D.C.-based artist Brian Petro is for sale. Prices range from $600 to $1,400.
