It’s easy to miss this modest-looking storefront spa, tucked among the noisy cafés, mobbed bars, and garish sex-shop window displays of West 4th. Inside, though, the snug, guys-only sanctuary feels far from the madding crowd. New Age music floats through the softly lit, slate-floored main room, where neighborhood men relax in a row of cushy pedicure chairs; in back, a hallway leads to a warren of small, immaculate treatment rooms, where facials (using Yon-Ka products, also for sale in the reception area), Swedish hot-oil massages, Tui-na, and reflexology are offered. There’s also a dedicated waxing room, where the services range from $15 for eyebrows to $199 for full-body depilation (not for the faint-hearted). A precipitous spiral staircase leads to a stand-up tanning booth and a large room with a sunken hot tub, massage table, and tiled shower area for body scrubs and couples’ treatments.
