Tani Chambers opened this ecofriendly nail salon and spa in April 2009, complete with hardwood floors and cubbyhole shelving made of reclaimed wood and low-wattage, energy-efficient globe lights glowing overhead. Mint-green-and-copper checkerboard walls lend a cheery vibe to the four-seat nail bar, stocked with an array of OPI and Zoya polishes free of DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde. Footbaths at the three pedicure stations are topped off with flower petals and essential oils, and waterless manis and pedis are available for ultraconservationists. Vegetable-based eyebrow-waxing, threading, and brow-sugaring appointments are conducted at two reclining chairs in the center of the salon, and a sunlight-filled treatment room overlooking a garden is utilized for massages, body scrubs, and facials with all-natural skin-care line Farmaesthetics. Popular treatments include an acne-fighting facial using green clay, red clover, and peppermint oil, as well as a seaweed botanical-based detox mask. More unusual services, like Acrylics Anonymous (a six-week series of restorative manicures), or an exfoliating, firming, and moisturizing Fanny Facial (ensuring a skimpy-bikini-ready behind), round out the mix.
Private PartiesWink offers up its space to be rented out for private parties and events.
