Owner and master hairstylist Gwenn LeMoine is carrying on two legacies at Parlor. On the professional side, she’s a former apprentice to Horst Rechelbacher (founder of Aveda) and one-time assistant to Sonia Kashuk (before the latter launched her own line of cosmetics for Target). On the personal side, she’s the daughter of a salon proprietor who was the son of a beautician himself. Given that dual heritage, it only makes sense that Parlor, LeMoine’s homey hairdressing hub, should have eventually spawned an in-house school to foster the next generation of stylists and colorists. Reflected in large vintage mirrors, apprentices and experts, including LeMoine’s sister (and fellow stylist) Sarah, snip hair at seven cutting stations overlooking a garden and seasonal flowerboxes. Staff and students are primarily Aveda grads, so you can expect the same perks (hand massages while awaiting the completion of your highlights) and purchases; the brand’s extensive line of hair care, skincare, and makeup products line the mini-shop up front.Apprentice Program
Every Monday apprentices give reduced haircuts ($20) and color highlights ($40).
Makeup Application Services
LeMoine also offers makeup application services and lessons for bridal parties and special events.
Indoor surfing, spinning lovefests, a luxurious pig-placenta facial, and more.
