YinOva founder and director Jill Blakeway is known for her powers of fertility, specializing in aiding women who are trying to conceive through a combination of acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and nutritional counseling. What began with just two rooms in a West Village office building in 2000 has since expanded to encompass more than a dozen treatment rooms, including one helmed by “reiki master” Beth White, who conducts 90-minute sessions to heal energy imbalances, and others for practitioners specializing in youngsters with health and behavioral conditions like asthma and ADHD. As a licensed acupuncturist and a board-certified herbalist, Blakeway requires that each of her three acupuncturists on staff hold a master's degree in Chinese medicine and complete her vigorous training course. Blakeway’s expertise has earned her a cult following: The waiting list for an appointment with her is approximately sixteen weeks, and snagging an appointment with another practitioner takes around three weeks.
