Nearly two years after opening in Union Square, former Bear Sterns trader Michael Patton opened Yoga Vida’s second studio in the East Village in the spring of 2011. With two larger practicing spaces and more changing rooms, the studio is significantly larger than the original, though the chocolate-brown curtains, floor-to-ceiling windows, and hardwood floors still maintain the warmth of the University Place locale. And while the digs are a bit plusher, the affordable price for the 65-minute flow-y Vinyasa classes remains the same ($10; $5 for college students). Check out the studio’s website for frequent workshops, and teacher training come September 2011.
Pros
Great instructors and ample space at about half the price of most other studios.
Cons
No showers for sweaty students.
