Although originally established in 1966 to tour the U.S.S.R. as well as internationally, MCB has become much more than the Soviet Choreographic Company for Kremlin functions, even launching the careers of stars like ABT’s Vladimir Malakhov. This production should prove a wonder of tradition and discipline: archetypal ballerinas in sparkling, ornate tutus, male dancers in wigs, and impeccable technique by all comrades.
