The Washington Square Hotel has been a haven for writers, artists and visitors to Greenwich Village for more than a century—and was even home to Bob Dylan and Joan Baez back in the day. The hipster quotient has waned and a recent renovation of this Washington Square cornerstone increased its popularity among NYU parents in particular. New deluxe rooms feature queen-sized beds overflowing with pillows and other perks like plush terrycloth bathrobes to Internet access. There’s also a gym just off the Art Deco-inspired lobby. An all-knowing staff can point visitors to a host of nearby restaurants in the area, or direct them toward the in-house North Square Restaurant, once more cryptically known as C3.

There’s never been more lodging here, and the rooms have never looked this good.
