The Amsterdam Court is a well-kept and remarkably affordable sanctuary just a stone's throw from the brightest lights of Times Square. The lobby's simple stylishness—soft lighting and modern furniture—falls off a bit in the rooms upstairs, which are dominated by squishy, Art Deco headboards framing the beds. The Belgian linens and down comforters are a redeeming touch. Rooms lack minibars and other frills, but basic amenities—cable TV, video games, and refrigerators on request—are covered. Continental buffet is available for an extra fee, while a 24-hour lounge behind the lobby offers complimentary latte, espresso, cappuccino, and tea.
