There’s a scene in the 1996 film Flirting With Disaster where Patricia Arquette's character states, "We're not B&B people," after a series of rather forced pleasantries with the proprietor of the quaint residence where she was spending the night. To enjoy Bibi's, guests have to be B&B people. The large Victorian house of Harry Kisoensing and family in Brooklyn's residential Midwood area is best suited for quiet visitors with local business, like a group of medical students who recently stayed for three weeks. Those seeking a place to crash while spending a wild week partying in the Big Apple should look elsewhere. Although the house is furnished with a mix of fixtures that straddle the line between antique and thrift shop, the units are spotless, with private bathrooms, cable television and phone access. The two-bedroom accommodations even include a separate living room. A communal full breakfast is served in the kitchen between
8 a.m. and 9:45 a.m.
Comfortable room size, especially considering the per night fee.
Cons
Get used to takeout if you don't feel like leaving the neighborhood. Decent sitdown eateries are nearly nonexistent within walking distance.
A Guide to the New Hotel Glut
There’s never been more lodging here, and the rooms have never looked this good.
