Business travelers and tourists alike will find the Embassy Suites to be, well, sweet. Adjacent to the World Financial Center, this 463-room Hilton franchise sits right on the Hudson. While the spacious two-room quarters aren’t going to win any design awards, they do possess a little more personality than most of the Hilton properties. There is a fantastic 11-screen stadium movie theatre on the ground floor and Applebee’s and Chevy’s chains are also on the premises. The hotel offers its own workout facilities and jogging track, but fitness enthusiasts should head to the bike/running path that skirts the West Side Highway or to the nearby skate park, basketball courts and batting cages. There are also several meeting rooms and banquet facilities on site.
ProsOne of the most comfortable downtown hotels, with prices that are even more accommodating by comparison.
Cons
Guests who are in a hurry may need to trek across West St. as the area isn't known for its abundance of available cabs.
A Guide to the New Hotel Glut
