All five floors of Annette Fisherman's Chelsea B&B are chock-full of her own bric-a-brac: from family heirlooms to antiques to photographs, plus an eclectic art collection from her former life as a gallery owner. The single family home-turned-office-space-turned-inn is considered an "Urban B&B," which is code for having your own bathroom and the luxury of taking an elevator, instead of stairs, up the old building's five stories. Each of the sizable 14 rooms (many with exposed brick) features a different theme, from French Provinçal to the aptly named "Canopy Room" to the "1940's Room" full of '40s memorabilia. It's a perfect scenario for reluctant business travelers who miss home; in fact, some guests even have their own key to the building, which stays locked at all hours.
A Guide to the New Hotel Glut
