B, Q at Sheepshead Bay
American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa
The 60-room Sheepshead Bay location of this international hotel franchise is no different than the standard model familiar to traveling salesmen and budget explorers from Boise to Tallahassee. A football field’s distance from the bay (but without a view), this Comfort Inn provides one of the few reliable lodging options for the coastal neighborhoods of Brooklyn. The hotel’s proximity to the Belt Parkway and the area’s many boat docking facilities also make it a sensible pit stop. Travelers with an overnight connection through JFK (only eight miles away) may prefer the charming local flavor and a dinner at Lundy's to the sterile accommodations closer to the airport.
ProsFor an extra $40-$50 a night, guests can upgrade to room with a Jacuzzi.
Cons
The same room that would cost you $79 off an exit of I-30 in Arkansas will run you $149 off an exit of the Belt Parkway. Welcome to New York.
A Guide to the New Hotel Glut
There’s never been more lodging here, and the rooms have never looked this good.
