This small, inconspicuous and popular branch of the Ramada Inn empire is situated on a convenient corner in the quiet Murray Hill neighborhood. Don't be scared off by its extremely dark lobby—the rooms themselves boast sunny, bright hallways and immaculate rooms. While it is part of a mid-level chain, the Ramada Inn Eastside offers amenities that go beyond the basics including cable TV, coffeemakers, movies on demand, video games, daily newspapers, free breakfast, voice mail and even free national calls. The rooms are fairly small, yet have a cozy, relaxed feel, and the white marble bathrooms are spotless. The hotel features a modest gym and a small, 24-hour business center with computers, fax machines and a copier. Ultimately, what this hotel lacks in character it makes up for in cleanliness and dependability.
ProsClean, comfortable rooms on a lovely, quiet and central residential block near major subways and sights.
Cons
Extremely slow elevators make staying on a lower floor a smart option. No onsite food options.
A Guide to the New Hotel Glut
