The cut-out of the New York skyline in the lobby gives the wrong first impression. This is not a tacky Times Square chain, but an extended-stay hotel that keeps a clientele of mostly business travelers comfortably living out of a suitcase for weeks—or even months. The larger-than-average studio-suites come with many of the amenities of home. Subduedly decorated in shades of browns, blues, and white, the 350 rooms are optimized with full kitchens with cookware and dishwasher, a sofa bed, a desk/work area, a breakfast bar, and ample closet space. The flat-screen TV, high-speed Internet access, and triple-paned soundproof glass make it easy to escape city life. Opt for upper-floor suites for a prime view of the Empire State Building or Bryant Park. And take advantage of the complimentary breakfast buffet, USA Today, weeknight dinner and social hour, and same-day grocery service. The third floor serves as an informal rec room with additional TVs, assorted books, wi-fi, and the hotel bar, Studio 100—which scores extra points for the pool table.

The rooms are apartment-like, which is the best you can hope for in an extended-stay hotel.

If you’re not in for the long haul, rates can be high for stays under eight days.

Claim to Fame
Film crews often live here during extended New York shoots—the staff of Will Smith’s I Am Legend stayed a whopping ten months here during filming.

Discounted rates depending on length of stay, 15% for stays of 8 nights or longer; an additional 10% for stays of 30 nights or longer
