Profile

With 225 rooms and 40 residences, this riverfront W, designed by architects Gwathmey Siegel & Associates, is the trendy chain’s first New Jersey outpost. Guests enter into the Living Room, a chic, high-ceilinged lobby-lounge with tan half-moon couches, zebra-print pillows, and a signature-cocktail and bar menu. Rooms are outfitted in brown, tan, and off-white (accented with bold pinks, purples, or blues) and come stocked with iPod docking stations, Bliss Spa bath products, and a choice of firm, down, or full-body cushions from their Pillow Menu. Standard “Cozy” rooms overlook Hoboken streets through large windows; higher-priced guest rooms feature balconies with beautiful views of the Manhattan skyline. Zylo, the hotel’s upscale Italian eatery, serves grass-fed and organic steaks, while the chocolate-colored Chandelier Room, brought to the W by the owners of Tenjune, boasts a swanky riverfront terrace.

Pros

The hotel is located in the hub of Hoboken nightlife on Washington Street, a long row of trendy yet affordable restaurants and bars.

Cons
Though it’s a mere five-minute walk to the PATH train station, some might shy away from its New Jersey address.
