The Alexander Calder show opens at MoMA on Friday, but pardon us if we’re more excited for Saturday's first-birthday party for Mamalu, the family play space-café, where Venezuelan artist Espartaco Albornoz (whose raw brushstrokes cover the walls) will leads a mobile-making workshop. If you don’t know Williamsburg’s arty kid scene, here’s an excellent excuse to get acquainted with it—and bring home a piece of art you can hang somewhere other than on the fridge.
