Review
Ignore the silly title. Parvez Sharma’s brave documentary about homosexuality in the Muslim world presents a brutally honest, eye-opening look at gay and lesbian individuals who continue to practice their religion, despite its blunt, often violent rejection of their orientation.

The title nails it, and the film is beautiful

I saw this remarkable documentary this weekend, and was very touched by its remarkable stories of practicing Muslims around the world who want to reconcile their sexuality with their beliefs. The film was smart, poetic, and totally absorbing. Highly recommended!
Read this and tell me if the title is still terrible or silly...

According to the text on the movie's promotional postcard (handed to me, an agnostic, by a blonde cub at the fur ball last sunday), "Looking beyond a hostile and war-torn present, it reclaims the Islamic concept of a greater Jihad, whose true meaning is akin to 'an inner struggle' or 'to strive in the path of God.' In doing so the film and its remarkable subjects move beyind the narrow concept of 'Jihad' as holy war."
Ignore my required ratings, I haven't seen the film yet.
