Review

Hoss gives a restrained, enigmatic performance as a Berlin pediatrician exiled to a bleak, rural GDR hospital in this atmospheric and beautifully photographed Cold War drama. Coolly directed and often a bit too deliberately paced, but well worth the wait for the powerful and unsettling conclusion.
