The story of Sokvannara (Sy) Sar, a gifted young Cambodian dancer who was discovered in Angkor Wat by dance patron Bass and brought to the U.S. to train in classical ballet. Despite the title, it focuses more on Sy’s emotional and technical development as a dancer—which is a joy to witness—than political or social issues.
