A ghost movie about a ghost town, Grady and Ewing’s impressionistic, elegiac doc depicts a slowly disintegrating Detroit, post–financial crisis. But rather than a full-on exposé, this is more a somber mood piece: The filmmakers follow a union president as he struggles with automakers, a club owner as he reflects on the past, and even two young artists as they help reclaim the city’s forgotten neighborhoods.
