The Evil Dead director returns to his horror-comedy roots with this tale of a haggard gypsy who puts a curse on a cutie-pie loan officer after she denies her an extension on her mortgage. Intelligently made, genuinely creepy, and unexpectedly poignant, all while remaining satisfyingly faithful to the genre.
