Review

When Jimmy Carter—Nobel Prize winner, revered statesman, and the guy everyone wants for a grandpa—released his book Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid, folks promptly called him a liar and an anti-Semite. Here Oscar-winning director Jonathan Demme chronicles, in fascinating detail, the knock to Carter’s popularity and his refusal to back down. It’s not his An Inconvenient Truth, but like that film, the documentary does bring plenty nuance and passion to a public persona.
