Polley’s second feature as director—following the magnificent Away From Her—features Williams as a seemingly happily married woman who strikes up an affair with her neighbor.
Worth it: Though the plot sounds a bit mundane, Polley’s deft understanding of human emotions and needs—particularly the contrast between romantic longing and the alternately comforting and stifling familiarity of wedlock—makes this one special.
