Review

The reuniting of Jet Li with his great action director Ching Siu-Tung should always be cause for celebration. This retelling of a popular legend about a snake demon who turns into a beautiful woman and falls for a mortal man, and the sorcerer/demon-hunter who intervenes, is loaded with lush romance and typically fast-paced action, but it’s also filled with a bit too much distracting, not always effective CGI.
