Hip Hop Karaoke is an idea so good you’re shocked it hasn’t been thought of earlier. Started in December of 2004, HHK made fast friends with New York’s rap-heads; maybe it’s because the three rap nerds that birthed the event go the extra mile, providing a hype-man to help you rock the show. Maybe it’s the celebrity appearances, including Jeru the Damaja, Big Daddy Kane, and Rhymefest, (who has done Biz Markie’s "Just a Friend.") Or maybe it’s because the gaggles of kids who pack the event once a month couldn’t care less where the small town girl took the midnight train to (anywhere, according to Journey and the played out karaoke staple “Don’t Stop Believing”) but they all know that “Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nothing to F’ Wit.”
