Sure, the free admission is free for college kids, but this weekly megamixer isn't for bookish types. There's porn projected on the walls of the dance floor, a handsome supply of nearly naked go-go boys—most of whom show little evidence of having undergone puberty—and shirtless bartenders who are a little more filled out. Still, this party avoids the soulless cruisiness found elsewhere. The upstairs dance floor offers thumping remixes of radio pop and swirling lights while a downstairs lounge with couches and tables provides a cozy respite for kissing couples.
For one night, though, you could be forgiven for mixing up the two. Ennio Morricone, the genius behind the best spaghetti western music ever composed will unite rock snobs, cineastes, Italophiles, and maybe even a few classical music aficionados when he takes baton in hand to lead a full orchestra through his sulfurous repertoire.
