This ongoing series of lectures and musical performances regularly proves more fun than a late night in the lab. Hosts Margaret Mittelbach, Michael Crewdson, and Dorian Devins put a sophomoric twist on their high-minded talks by fueling the conversations with silly themed cocktails like the Croak-a-rita (for a discourse on amphibian intelligence) and the Big Bang (as a chaser to quantum physics). Then, once your brain has maxed out, bands like the Amygdaloids—a group of NYU neural scientists who play original rock songs—bring you back to earth.
