Think of this weekly video-game night as a postmodern Super Bowl party. It's got cheap wings and discounted pitchers. Guys with upturned collars on pleather couches give throaty unhs and aahs in the direction of the flat-screen. Yet the Big Game is virtual and the competitors are on the premises—pairs of wand wielders sign up right after work and battle it out in tennis or bowling, Nintendo style. For now, the action is low-key with most players guaranteed a chance to play. But once your fellow Wii enthusiasts get wind of the drink specials, you're likely going to have to wait if you don't show up early.
