Forget The Sopranos or The Simpsons; Gotham's literary cognoscenti know that Sunday nights are reserved for KGB Bar. That’s where authors like Rick Moody, Jonathan Lethem, and Mary Gaitskill have been lured to read and regale for little more than the promise of a few free drinks, and perhaps a few book sales the morning after. The success of the series has spawned a Monday-night equivalent for poetry and a Tuesday-night one for nonfiction, but the original remains unchallenged as this bar's premier event.
