4 medium turnips, each peeled and cut into 8 wedges (about 2 lbs.)

2 tbs. butter

3 tbs. honey

Kosher salt or sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

1 tbs. sliced chives

In a 12-inch skillet, add the turnips, butter, ¾ cup water, honey, and a pinch of salt. Over medium-high heat bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 10 minutes. Uncover and cook for 7 to 10 minutes longer or until vegetables are glazed and most of liquid has evaporated, increasing heat if necessary and stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, season with a few turns of pepper, and stir in the chives. (Published 2012)
