Profile

This venue is closed.

Little Korea isn't lacking for barbecue joints where diners grill their own dinner over portable charcoal pots. But with its quasi-industrial decor and friendly service, 36 is a welcome addition to the kimchi district. The menu covers all the homey bases, from bibimbap to casseroles and stews, but the main attraction is the barbecued black-Angus beef that you wrap in lettuce leaves slathered with sweet pepper paste.

The decor is trendy-cool with a minimalist feel. The portions of food are also minimalist; teeny-tiny portions of meat with an array of side dishes. Small portions are okay if either the quality is superior or the price is commensurate. This is not the case at 36 Bar - the food is pretty good and the prices are very high. I do not recommend having dinner at 36 Bar.

Best ever !

We have found this restaurant through this very site as a matter of fact. As a family we love the Korean BBQ, we try to taste it in every country we take a trip to. So far I can definetly say that this was the best Korean BBQ we ate. The meat was so delicious! The co-owner Robert was very kind and helpeful. I would recommend it strongly. Can't wait to go back to NY to eat it again.
