Profile

This venue is closed.

Next door to Greenpoint watering hole Coco66 stands its unassuming sister restaurant 68. The décor matches the food: simple, but pleasant. A front room offers a full bar with dim lighting from spherical bulbs, while the back room features a skylight and artwork. Though the kitchen is shared with Coco, 68 offers a fuller arsenal of bar food than what you can get on the other side of the wall. Buffalo wings with a smooth, dense blue-cheese dipping sauce share menu space next to Kobe beef pigs in blankets paired with honey dijon and pickled jalapeños. Entrees are seasonal, but always include steak frites, a pasta, and rotating dinner salads. There’s a varying list of thin-crust pizzas and myriad cheese and vegetable toppings to gild a thick, juicy burger. Stomach-fortifying baked macaroni and cheese topped with bread crumbs, and crispy onion rings, are the best sides. The space used to be occupied by a chocolate factory, so it’s fitting that a double-chocolate brownie topped with spicy chocolate ice cream is the highlight of the dessert menu.
