The mobs at weekend brunch—a standard $13.50 eggs-coffee-mimosa troika—can be maddening, but 7A really hits its stride around 2 a.m., serving round-the-clock comfort food that’s a notch up from your average diner. Burgers, nachos, pastas—they are what they are, which is pretty yummy, especially if you’ve spent the night wandering East Village watering holes and want to fill up cheaply while observing the antics of your fellow bar-hoppers parading through the picture windows. Need a companion in the wee hours? Ignore the tipsy tarts outside, and have the French apple one with vanilla ice cream instead.
