Profile

This venue is closed.

This upstart meatery, a late entrant in the city's burgeoning cheesesteak derby, is unrelated to three other namesake restaurants around town. Independently owned, and with a laserlike focus on the cheesesteak, they have produced a marvel: The meat is as moist as pudding, and the cheese is a rich, lushly meltable smoked provolone; both come cradled in the unmistakable soft rolls made by the Amoroso bakery in Philadelphia.

My fiance and I moved to New York from Philadelphia three years ago. I have been to all the cheesesteak places in New York; Carl's, 99 Miles, and Philly Slims. These places are not real cheesteak eateries. Reason is because they are using bread from New York and being from Philly we realized that the Cheesesteak Factory is using bread delivered daily from Philadelphia. That is what makes the difference in a real cheesesteak. So I couldn't agree more with Josh Ozersky's review. My compliments, you really did your homework!
